Du Yuesheng was a Chinese gangster and one of the leaders of the Green Gang in Shanghai.

He joined the Green Gang at a young age and caught the eye of the mistress of the gang's leader, Huang Jin, Miss Qwei, who helped him advance his career. Initially, Du was responsible for overseeing the opium shipments to the warehouses, but then Huang Jin put him in charge of an opium factory in the French Concession of Shanghai.

Over time, Du developed connections ranging from Chinese ships to the French consulate. He would lend large sums of money to Europeans and then manipulate them as he pleased.
