For pocket money, Katti will soon get N$42 million from selling 1% of his 15% stake in an oil exploration licence he acquired in 2018 with Australia's Pancontinental Energy (75%) and state-owned Namcor (10%).

Note that Katti has a bigger stake than Namcor and, by the way, has outperformed parastatals at making money.

State-owned enterprises are arguably in a better position yet continue to depend on taxpayer funds.

In some quarters, people like Katti are praised for 'working hard' and supposedly bringing investment to Namibia.

However, the system is geared to favour the self-enrichment of a few select individuals by forcing genuine investors to team up with the likes of Katti.
