REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- In front of family and friends, Brig. Gen. Ted Harrison, Army Contracting Command commanding general, was promoted to the rank of major general during a July 3 ceremony here.

"I cannot think of a more qualified leader to be promoted to major general today," said Gen.

Dennis L. Via, Army Materiel Command commanding general, who officiated the ceremony.

The newly promoted major general thanked his wife Wendy, and family members, along with his mentors, fellow Soldiers and the ACC workforce.

"As I stated in the oath just taken, I accept this position freely, but I want to add I accept it with a great deal of humility, gratitude, and confidence," said Harrison.
